Wordless Wednesday: Tilt Cruisers Photo Shoot

Over the weekend myself and the rest of the Tilt Cruisers (the Pohang motorcycle gang that I am part of) were finally able to take our long-awaited pictures in our newly crafted leather vests.  As many of you know, my bike was totaled a few weeks ago so I was able to take my personal shots on a friend's bike.  The following pictures are thanks to Jonny Finity and his ability to take amazing pictures.

Wordless Wednesday: Aimless Afternoons in Daegu

Last weekend the boy and I ventured to Daegu for a little time away from Pohang.  We had grand plans for the day that included making it to Apsan Mountain (rumored to be one of the most beautiful spots in Daegu) and roaming around to all the little places their website CLAIMED they have such as: cable cars, a small amusement park, multiple museums, etc.  Now, i'm sure all of those lovely things were at this beautiful mountain but we just weren't able to find them.  Seeing as how neither of us speaks fluent Korean or has the best sense of direction (you all know I don't) we wandered around for a bit until eventually the heat became unbearable and we called off the search and went back to civilization.

Even though we didn't get to cross another amusement park off our list, we still had a great time.  In between amazing western food, wandering the streets of Daegu, the beauty of the mountain or an impromptu drum concert, our day ended up being great.  Not what we expected, but great.

Wordless Wednesday: Gyeongju World

A few weeks ago, I went with a group of friends to Gyeongju World.  It is a small amusement park about 2 hours away from my beloved town of Pohang.  We rode rollercoasters (big an small), ate ourselves silly with dip n' dots ice cream (love it) and had a blast being child-like with all of the rides.  Being an amusement park lover of all sizes, I had a perfect day.

Next on our list of amusement parks is The Everland Amusement Park in Seoul.  It is the 5th largest amusement park in the world and NEEDS to be visited before I leave this country.  Consider it tacked on the ever-growing list of places to visit before I leave.

Wordless Wednesday: Jeju Island

For this Wordless Wednesday I decided to include just a few more photos from our mini Jeju vacation.  Throughout the trip we found ourselves taken picture after picture with cardboard cutouts.  These combined with the tiny garden signs found throughout the park at Hanlim made our day amusing to say the least.

Wordless Wednesday: Wolpo Beach

As anyone who has read my blog recently can attest to, I am a beach-aholic.  I spend as much time at the beach as I can and love nothing more than camping out alongside good friends, good drinks aplenty and good food.  Over the weekend we went to a beach a bit outside of Pohang called Wolpo Beach.  It has a bigger beach, more convenience stores and a wider range of things to do.  The only downside to it (compared to our usual beaches closer to home) is that there are enormous rocks that make it impossible to find a comfortable spot when sleeping and the water has a bit more debris in it than we're used to.

We spent almost the entire weekend having fun in the waves (or lack thereof), eating amazing grilled goodness and regaling eachother with funny stories.  It was definitely a weekend to remember.  Thankfully a repeat weekend will be happening this coming weekend at a beach closer to home.  Another weekend of fun in the sun.

Wordless Wednesday: Marines

The past few weekends have been spent with some of the local military boys.  One of my best friends, Matt Slansky, is on his way out of Korea so I am taking advantage of the beautiful beach weather to spend as much time with him as possible.  We have been bumming around on the beach, eating western food provided by a local base and soaking up as much sun as we can.

Before meeting them I had a very negative perception of the military here in Pohang.  While that perception does fit with some of the younger, more inexperienced ones, the men I have been spending time with lately have really changed my mind.  I guess this is proof that sometimes the first impression is not the most important.

Tomato Picking in Korea

A few weeks ago I went on a tomato picking excursion with my itty bitties.  They eventually understood that the red (not green) tomatoes were for eating, not to squash them in the hair of friends or to throw them as hard as possible on the ground touchdown style.
